The following In-depth study of This Holiday that the Catholic/Protestant and Secular World calls "Christmas", will involve several, or should I say Many, Many items of "Religious Icon use and Worship".
I need to remind you of the Scripture (2 Cor 6:14-15) that says :
..."What fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness ? And what fellowship hath light with darkness ? And what agreement hath the Messiah have with Beliya'al ?"...[ Beliya'al translated means : Worthlessness, wickedness, evil.]
Also, Ephesians 5:11 : "And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them."
Maybe what I should do, is to list all of these different items first, here; and then address them each individually.

Ok, first (#1) on the list is Jolly "Old Nick". You can go to just about any Good and reputable dictionary or Encyclopedia and look up "Old Nick" and you will read that it refers to none other than Satan, the Devil ! How does this fit in with St. Nicholas ? Well let us look at what history there is on St. Nicholas.
#2. St. Nicholas
In my search of multiple sources, I discovered one that summed it all up in short order. Here is a Quote from "The St. Nicholas Center - The truth about Santa Claus :
"Was St. Nicholas a real person? Some say St. Nicholas existed only in legend without any reliable historical record... Many of the St. Nicholas stories seem to be truth interwoven with imagination." In any case it all appears to be that there is a great deal of fiction surrounding this "person".
Furthermore, here is what the Scriptures have to say on the subject of Nicholas.
Revelation 2:5-6
"Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come upon thee quickly, and will remove your candlestick from its place, unless thou repents. But this thou has, that thou hatest the deeds of the Nicholaitanes, which I also hate."
And Shaddai 'El goes on further to say :
Revelation 2:15-16
"You also have them that hold to the Doctrines of the Nicholaitanes, which thing I hate. Repent; or else I will come upon thee quickly..."
These set of Scriptures from Revelations, of-course date back to the middle of the 1st Century, approximately A.D. 60. This date is well studied and explained at (www.ecclesia.org/truth/revelation.html)
But let us get back to the "Catholic St. Nicholas" !
There is no record of his birth, he pretty much came out of nowhere. Was said (by the Catholic Church) to have been selected as the "Bishop of Myra", without ever being Ordained. As one needs to be ordained in order to even be nominated to the position of Bishop. He was also said to have been at the Council of Nicaea, though his record of attendance in 325a.d. is not on "all" of the lists of attendees, but actually found on only a few lists that were compiled much later. In fact the earliest reference to "St. Nicholas" started over 400 years later, in the Late 700s by a Catholic Abbot. This is well after his supposed birth, death, etc. It is said that this Abbot of Sion was visited by the spirit of "St. Nicholas"(another direct Catholic violation of Deut 18:11-12 [I think the Abbot was visited by Satan himself]), it further states that this encounter was recorded by a "reliable witness" who just happened to be a close associate of the Abbot's (how is that for second hand, third hand or maybe it could be called slight of hand information). In any case, there is no record of the name of this so called "reliable witness". It is all pretty much based upon the word of the Roman Catholic Church.
#3. Santa Claus (based upon the above... person?)
Please go to a reputable Library and do some serious seperate study on this, as the great majority of Church Theologians (Clergy) agree that the following person is just fanciful imagination (a Lie) that was made up "Just for the Children" !!! Remember the lie that was started saying, "Yes Virgin-ia, there is a Santa Claus". Children are taught to believe in this fictional character ["even by Christian Parents"] at a very early age (usualy by their first "Christmas" after birth).
So let's go on to the Santa Claus portion of this study. The name "Santa Claus" is a twisted form of the name and title that was given and promoted by the Catholic Church. I shall show you in this sequence:

Santa Claus; which has become a very important icon in society as he/it helps promote the sales market during the "Christmas" buying frenzy, that starts as soon as the day after "Halloween". P.S. If you take the letters, S A N T A and move the "N" to after the second "A", you get the Name S A T A N (he doesn't care how he get his worship [even if it's by proxy] ). Furthermore, isn't it quite amazing as to how "SANTA" cruises around the whole world "in one night" on a custom flying sleigh, pulled by eight flying reindeer ( www.wiki.name.com/en/Reindeer_Names ); and is now even led by another invention, "Rudolph" the red nosed reindeer (again see wiki link above). And then he even manages to squeeze down chimneys (and electric furnace pipes, etc.). I suppose it isn't hard for "SANTA" to pull all this off, as he does wear a "Wizards Cap", uses "Magic Dust" on the Herd, and has the help of a multitude of little "Elfs" ( leprechauns, demons ). I mean this is quite an accomplishment for an 1800 year old dead dude that never really, truely existed; Except in Roman Catholic Tradition : and remember how the Catholic need to venerate and worship dead people (saints)! Boy isn't it interesting, as to how, the Catholic Church, and all of Her Harlot Daughters, can help cause, the whole world to follow after the Beast !
#4. Christmas Tree
The "Christmas Tree" is a very famous Icon from antiquity, "Babylonian" to be exact. It first appears as an affirmation to the conception and re-birth of the dead Nimrod, as the Child Tammuz. It was invented by Semiramis, the wife/mother of Nimrod. When Nimrod was executed and his body quartered and parted out to the various outlying city/nation/kingdoms. Semiramis needed to find a way to keep a hold on the throne of "Babylon". It is said (by Tradition) that she claimed that an evergreen sprig started to grow out of a dead Tree Stump, signifying the re-birth of Nimrod as Tammuz. And that the Evergreen tree was a symbol of that "miraculous" birth of her son. This is the first veneration of a tree that was decorated in adoration to an infant child.
You can read about this in multiple sources, including the Scriptures (look up Tammuz in a concordance). But what exactly does YaHuWaH say concerning this Tree worship thing, as the whole world has been led to partake in :
YermeYahu (Jeremiah) 10:1-5 :
"Learn not the way of the Heathen, and be not alarmed by the signs in the heavens, for the heathen is alarmed by them. For the custom of the people are vain delusions: for one cuts the tree out of the forest, the work of the workman with the axe. They deck it with Silver and Gold, they fasten it down with nails and the hammer so that it will not tip over. These Idols are like the Palm tree, and these Idols can not speak, they must be carried because they can not walk..."
And also in Deuteronomy 7:25 :
"The Images of their gods shall ye burn with fire: and neither shall you desire the Silver and Gold that is upon them, nor shalt thou take it unto thee, lest thou be snared by it: for it is an abomination to YaHuWaH thy 'Elohim. Neither shall you bring the accursed thing into thy house, lest thou become a cursed thing like it: thou shalt utterly detest it, and thou shalt utterly abhor it; for it is a cursed thing."
P.S. The Round Ball ornaments found on the Tree {the pagan symbol of the phallis [male sex organ]), are the testes, also a pagan ritual symbol.

#5. The "Christmas Wreath"
Yes, this goes back into Babylonian antiquity as well. It was a pagan symbol of fertility, as illistrated by the aforementioned Nimrod/Semiramis, Mother/Son, Sexual Insest, and the Baby Tammuz Thing. The Wreath was a Pagan Babylonian symbol of the Womb (the Tree was the Phallic symbol). The Wreath also later became known as the Nimbus (the symbol of the Sun) that is seen in different Cult-ures, like the crown around the head of kings and most noteably, the "Ceasers" of Rome. The Catholic Church further utilized it in the form of a Halo/Sun disc behind the heads of ALL of their saints and the Madonna/Christ Child, Jesus, etc., etc., etc. Take a good look at the Statue of Jupiter, that the Catholic Church re-named Peter.

But now, let's get on with more of the Falsehoods that the Catholic Church and Her Harlot Daughters continue to accept, condone and promote, by allowing their flocks/congregations/pew warmers to practice, because the "Christmas Thing" is One of the major times for their churches funding.

#6. Mistletoe
This is another Pagan fertility symbol as it was used in order to foster advances upon the girls, to gain kisses and hopefully other sexually illicit acts during the Pagan Festival known as the Saturnalia/Brumalia, which was held during this same time of year. Also to note, is that the plant growth known as Mistletoe is in fact a Parasite that feeds off of certain trees, most noteably the Oak.
#7. Holly w/berries
The Ivy and Holly were common symbols of the Roman deity known as "Saturn". Many of the early believers (out of fear) would decorate their homes in order to blend in with the Pagan cult-ure, because everyone else was observing the "Saturnalia". The believers thought that if they hung the Holly w/berries, they would suffer less persecution. As time went on, it became one of their traditions as well as the Wreaths, and the Babylonian Asherim ("Christmas") Trees. They continued to do this for so long, that now they comtinue to do it to the point that you can see these Pagan symbols in the church assemblies (on their alter/stage) and homes.
In fact it is still the fear that if one does not conform to, or partake in these forms of Idolatrous acts; they will be labled freaks and called "Scrooges" (a form of persecution).
But what does our Heavenly Father say about these types of heathen practices:
Concerning "Babylon the Great"
Revelation 18:3-4 :
"For all of the Nations have drunk of the wine, of the wrath of her fornications, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are made rich through the abundance of her delicacies. And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of Her, my people, that you may not be partakers of Her sins, and that you may not recieve of Her plagues."
And now for some very interesting parts associated with the "Christmas Season".
#8. Madonna and Child
Yes, this also goes all the way back to ancient Babylon. It started when Semiramis declared that Nimrod came back (from the Dead) as the Child known as Tammuz. It's all the way back in "Babylon" that Semiramis and her son Tammuz were the very first Mother and Child that was worshipped as Deity's. In fact, beginning with them, the "Madonna and Child" thing has come all the way down to the present, again with the help of the un-Holy Roman "Catholic Church".
Although Semiramis and Tammuz originated in Babylon, their names have been changed in nations and kingdoms throughout history. So, Let's start with the most Ancient known Mother and Child , Worship thing.

#9. Star of Bethlehem
The first thing I should do here is Give the Scripture that speaks of this "Star". It is found in the Book of MattatYahu (Matthew) 2:1-16
First of all, we notice that YaHuWSHu'A had already been born, and the "Wise Men" (Magi, Astrologers) had been led First to Yerushalayim; not Bethlehem. Their very first contact was when they were brought before Herod, because they asked, "Where is he that is born, King of the Yahudiym? For we have seen his star in the east. And have come to worship him."
1. So, why did this "Star" lead them to Herod, and not to the Manger, as every one is led to believe ? [answer given below]
The next thing we read is that Herod was "Troubled". And had to ask the "Wise Men" (Astrologers) what time the Star appeared.
2. So, why didn't Herod, or any of his Chief Priests and Scribes Know about, let alone see this "Star" also ? [answer below]
The next thing we read is that, "Harod" sent them to Bethlehem in order to find out where "The young child" was, and to then bring him word as to the location of the infant.
3. Why did these "Wise Men" have to be told Where to go ? [answer below]
4. So, why didn't Herod just pack up his traveling gear and go with them ? [answer below]
Further on it states, "and, lo, the star,..., went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was."
5. Why was this star only seen by the "Wise Men" ( Magi, astrologers) ?
6. Why were they so long in coming, that the infant was now a young child ?
Then in verse 11, it reads, "And when they came into the House, they saw the young child with Miriam his mother,"
7. Why is the false story of the Magi in the Manger with the infant (new born) taught, instead of the true story of the Magi going to a house to see the young child ? (answer below)
Next we read, the Magi, "being warned by 'Elohim in a dream that they should not return to Herod..."
8. Why did YaHuWaH warn the "Wise Men" not to go back to Herod ?
Ok, let me answer those 8 questions in order.
1. This star was part of the babylonian ritual [horoscope] worship that the Magi, Astrologers were well aquainted with in their observance of the Zodiac (which originated in ancient Babylon). And since the "Star" led them to Herod instead of directly to the infant, the star was an attempt by haShatan to help inform Herod [via these pagan Magi, Astrologers] of the location on YaHuWSHu'A. A further and more clearer reason and discription of this "Star" will be forthcoming.
2. The main and most logical explaination for Herod and his Chief Priests needing to know when this "Star" first appeared, was because they were not into the Demonic, Zodiac, Astrological, "Star Worship" stuff like the Magi-cians were. And Herod also needed to know the approximate time of the birth of the Messiah, for reasons to be shown in the following answers.
3. The Magi needed to be told where to go because "The Star" needed to make sure that the Magi were to be set up by Herod to be his "Informers"! Then the "Star" re-appeared to the Magi, Astrologers, to lead them further.
4. Herod did not travel along with the Magi, because he was too afraid to step off of "his" throne for even such a short time as to go pay, even false homage, to the future King of Yisrael. Besides, he always sent others to do his "Dirty Work" (see verse 16).
5. OK ! Here is where the discription of the "Star" will get very intricate in its place within the "Christmas Worship" thing. As I mentioned before, the "Wise Men, Magi-cians, Astrologers; were into the Pagan forms of worshiping the "Stars" of Heaven, i.e. the Zodiac. It goes way, way back to Ancient Babylon. Here is a first glimpse and then I will provide even more in just a bit.
6. The main reason that the "Wise Men" arrived so far after the birth of Out Savior, was because they came all the way from Mesopotamia (Babylon, etc.). Besides, did not the "Star" first lead the "Wise Men" to "Herod" ? (that was definitely not a very direct route).
7. The Catholic Church would rather let the False stories become more ingrained into the minds of the Congregations, False Worship practices; that surrounds the "Christmas" thing. Because it also helps them maintain control over the Mass-es, and keeps the Mass-es un-aware of the "Truth" of the Scriptures ! Besides, you always see a display in front of "Churches", or on peoples lawns, of a little manger thing, sitting wide open with the 'Baby' laying in an eating trough, and three "Wise Men" next to it. I mean, that is just another one of those Big Ticket items that is $Sold$ during this "Holly Day" adopted by the "Catholic church" and then passed on to all of the "Protestant" denominations; and even to people who are not really religious, just because they want to try and keep up with the "Jones's" lawn display, blah, blah, blah.
Let's go on.
8. First I want to emphasize the fact that these "Wise Men" were definitely more afraid of the warning by YaHuWaH in their dreams, than they were of the "Star" that led them to "Herod" in the first place. This shows a definite distinction between the "Star" (of verse 10), and the actual messenger of YaHuWaH found in Verse 12 and 13.
So, now, let me give you a chronological sequence of the acceptance of that Pagan "Star" worship thing, from Babylon, up to our present time, and how the Mass-es are totally oblivious to its origin.
