Where the Name of the Father is Proclaimed !The condition of the Earth and what transpired shortly after the Flood.
Alrighty Now. This particular Study on the world just after the Flood of Noach's Day, is not a Salvation Issue. Rather, it is for understanding the disbursement of peoples and nations spread out over the face of the Earth.
Initially we need to remember that we all came from the same Two original Parents, Adawm and Chuwah (Adam and Eve). Through the Line of Adawm's son Sheth , to Noach , into the three main ancestral branches of Shem, Ham and Yapheth.
Beresith (Genesis) 5:1 - 32
Beresith (Genesis) 9:18 [ I will expand on this lineage, later in the study ].
We are all of one Blood and one Race, "The Human Race" !
Let us look at the misconception, that the various "Original" Ethnic Groups moved or traveled to their specific/primary/ respective locations, by traversing large bodies of water or across land bridges from one continent to another, on foot, cart or boat.
That is NOT how it took place, as there was only One Landmass during the time of Noach. We shall see this more clearly during this study. { first consider the Scripture found at Beresith (Genesis) 1:9 ).
This initially shows that there was "One" massive body of water "gathered together into one place" and then the dry land appearing. This by its own implication places the land mass also gathered into one place. And in this I am also in agreement as it fits scripturally with the account of the abatement of the Deluge. { please read Beresith (Genesis) 8:3-5, 12-14) ; where it is again by implication made, that the waters were again gathered together into one place and the Dry land doing the same, appearing as "the face of the ground".
And then, the Family of Noach was blessed and instructed by 'Elohim to be fruitful, multiply and again fill the earth : Beresith 9:1 and 7.
Let's keep in mind that the various Nationalities (or Primary Ethnic Groups) came about only after the confusion of tongues, and then the disbursement of those people groups mentioned at Beresith (Genesis) 11:6 - 9 ! And then eventually, the break-up of the Landmass, in order to isolate and disburse them within the individual Continents, etc. { Beresith 10:25).
So, from Adawm, through Seth, then Enosh (When man began to call upon the Name of YaHuWaH [ Beresith 4:25-26 ]), to Kenan, Mahalal'el, Yered, Hanoch, Metushelach, Lemech, we come to Noach and his there sons Ham Shem and Yepheth. {Beresith 5:1-32).
You will see in this borrowed illustration above, of what Scientists, etc., consider to be the best representation of the worlds initial landmass. I agree with this rendition on many grounds. Primarily because of how the major land masses do fit into each other like a geographical puzzle.
This can help to show how the different ethnic groups moved/migrated to their respective geographical location/destinations.
Looking at the map you will notice two lakes between Eurasia and Africa, these would become the Mediterranean Sea and Atlantic Ocean, once the splitting of the continents took place. This also explains why the Pacific Ocean is so Massive compared the Atlantic.
Anyway, immediately to the right side of those Lakes would be where the Garden of Eden was located. Specifically Hebron, which is within the area known as Yisra'el. { "and YaHuWaH 'Elohim planted a garden, eastward in Eden... [ Beresith (Genesis) 2:8)
Just to the right of that, is the area of Saudi Arabia and Iraq where Babel was/is located.
It was only after the wide disbursement of the different Ethnic groups, that the Earth was "divided" { Beresith (Genesis) 10:25 and 1 Dibre haYamim (Chronicles) 1:19. (We will touch more on this issue of the earth being divided soon.)
I shall use the above map again, later in this study.
But now, let us look at the 3 individual lines of descendants from Shem, Ham and Yepheth, and how they expanded into the various Ethnic Nationalities, and from whom came the Three main Ancestral base lines known as the Mongoloid, African and Caucasian. { Pease keep in mind that for the next 200 plus years after the Flood, there is still only one land mass !)

I hope to submit a suitable summarization of the descendants of Noach from his Sons - Shem, Ham and Yepheth, and naturally of-course this would include their wives genetic inputs.
Comment : We must remember that besides all the diversity of Body and Facial characteristics just among the sons of Noach; their wives would also have had their own varied genetic features. Combining all these different aspects of the human genome back in 2300 BCE., would have been the primary factor in the formation of the specific base for all the varieties of ethnic groups we see today. Consider, how many of the features from one ethnic line can be found in other ethnicities. Like Europeans that have the eyes of Orientals, American Indians with traits of Mediterraneans, Caucasians with a grand diversity of hair colors, or Light skinned blue eyed Negros with wavy straight hair, etc., etc.
This is also in order to show the various ethnic branches that developed from their offspring, beginning in the years shortly after the Deluge. This would naturally include all the Daughters born to them.
As a result, the initial families from the offspring of Shem, Ham and Yepheth would have been First Cousins and then their offspring would be Second Cousin, etc.
There was naturally some degree of inter-tribal marriage between the daughters of one family and the Sons of another.
This would then broaden the varieties of specific genetic features, leading up to the disbursement of those ethnic branches (nation/tribes), to certain or even specific locations by the Hand and perfect Will of haShaddai 'El, YaHuWaH .
Then, at the time of Peleg ( Beresith [Genesis] 10:25 ), the Earth was then divided into their respective separate and individual continental mass.
The Scriptures contain many instances of Devastating Quakes, from Beresith (Genesis) to Revelation.
We currently (to varying degrees), experience the occasional ongoing remnants within the movements of the Tectonic Plates, causing earthquakes and volcanic activity in diverse places.
Causing very unique, and at times devastating changes to the landscape and terrain.
This specific mention concerning the dividing of the continents during the time of Peleg ( Beresith [Genesis] 10:25; 1 Dibre haYamim [Chronicles] 1:19 ) is also, further proof of the Perfect Word of the Almighty 'Elohim.
Consider how there are certain complete ethnic lines (i.e. Australian Aborigines, the Polynesians the Aleut and Inuit of Alaska, or the Original Native Indigenous Tribes of South America, etc.) that are totally separate , from other locations that have multiple branches of ethnic lines or groups, mixed within a wide range, such as it is in the European or Mediterranean Ring).
Genesis 10 contains a table of the nations that has been and can be readily verified by secular history, archaeology and culture, but is very accurate just in its Scriptural context.
We will look into all of this more closely,
So,
Let's discover some important aspects in the lineage of the descendants of the Sons of Noach.
Beginning with,
Shem : Shem was Noach's oldest son. In Hebrew "Shem" translated means Name.
The following is the Shemitic line (Shemites/Semites).
Shem's descendants were...
Elam (many of these settled well east of the Persian Gulf up into Iran)
Asshur (these settled around the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers, now known as Iraq)
Arphaxad (these settled in the area known as Chaldea, southern Iraq and Kuwait)
Lud (these mostly settled around Turkey, and some in Northern Africa around Tunisia and Algeria)
Aram (these settled north and east of Yisra'el, in Syria)
Note: These became the primary Asia Minor and Middle Eastern nations.
The descendants of Shem, that have lived for millennia in the lands in and around Yisra'el, are generally olive skinned in appearance.
One of the sons of Shem was Elam.
This is an ancient name for the people of Persia or Iran. This was the name for them in the time of the Persian king Cyrus in the 6th century BCE and was still used for this people even in the 1st century CE. The people from Iran and their language were called Elamites, from the Elamite area of Persia (a.k.a.-Iran).

Another son of Shem and grandson of Noah was Asshur.
Asshur (a.k.a. Assyria), was one of the major ancient civilizations. Asshur was the progenitor of what became the Assyrians.

Another son of Shem and grandson of Noah was Arphaxad.
He is regarded as the ancestor of the Chaldeans. This is based strongly on a reference in some ancient documents called the Hurrian tablets that have a reference to Ariphurra (Arphaxad) - the founder of Chaldea. It was also through Arphaxad, then Eber, then Peleg, then Reu, then Serug, then Nahor, then Terah, then Abram or Abraham, and his son Isaac, from whom came the Twelve Tribes of Yisra'el.

Another son of Shem and grandson of Noah is Lud.
The descendants of Lud were the Lydians who settled in the current Western Turkey. The main city of Lydia was Sardis which is one of the seven churches mentioned in Revelation 2 and 3.

Finally, the fifth son of Shem and grandson of Noah was Aram.
Aram is the Hebrew translation for Syria and any instance of the word Syria in the Old Testament is derived from the word Aram. The Syrians' own name for themselves was Arameans. The name of their language was Aramaic which was a common language of the Middle East.

Then Ham : Ham was Noach's second oldest son. In Hebrew "Ham" translated means - hot / dark.
Ham's descendants were...
Cush (initially began in the land of Asshur, and then migrated/settled in Ethiopia, south of Mitzraim (Egypt)
Mitzraim (the Egyptians)
Phut (the Libyans)
Canaan (just above Egypt along the eastern Mediterranean coast, and then later was cast out, and their lands given as an inheritance to the Son's of Heber).
Note: These became the Primary African ethnic groups. And many of these would also branch out further, into their various sub-tribes.
The desendants of Ham dwelt East of Persia and in Africa. They gave rise to the various African nations and their subgroups, as well as a portion to become oriental peoples of the Far East and also the First Nations of the Americas through the Sinite subgroup of the Canaanites. The descendants of Ham also include the Dravidian people of the Indian subcontinent and branches that populated the Pacific Islands along the eastern seaboard.
Let's break this down some.
Cush, is the name of one of the sons of Ham,
Cush is the Hebrew word for Ethiopia and the people of Ethiopia were called Chusites from their Paternal Ancestor, Cush. One of the earliest and most significant person descended from Cush, was his son Nimrod, who married his own mother, "Semiramis". Nimrod led the effort to build the tower of Babel and from secular sources we know Nimrod and Semiramis invented post-flood astrology and astronomy. Nimrod with Semiramis, conceived the idea, then named the original 12 zodiac constellations, including Sagittarius the archer, to glorify Nimrod as the mighty hunter.
After the Death of Nimrod, Semiramis invented the original Occult Idolatries, especially the "Mother goddess" varieties, and "the very first mother-child cult" that we still see today.

Mizraim is another of the sons of Ham.
Mizraim is the Hebrew term for Egypt and is used many times in the Old Testament. One of the descendants of Mizraim (Egypt) was Philistim after whom the Philistines were named.
However, this branch of the descendants of Mizraim were the Caphtorim (the people of Caphtor). Historically it is known that Caphtor was an early name for the island of Crete and that the Philistines came from there. Furthermore, as found in scripture references such as Jeremiah 47:4 and Amos 9:7, the Philistines are clearly said to have originally come from Caphtor, the isle of Crete.
The Ludim in Genesis 10:13, a son of Mizraim, grandson of Ham, and great-grandson of Noah. They are probably the people that later peopled western Libya and what is now Tunisia, Algeria, and Morocco and some of the interior of the Sahara and are probably the people known to us now as the Berbers including the nomadic Tuareg. The Ludim became known as Lubims of Libya, as in 2 Chronicles 12:3 ; 16:8 and Daniel 11:43. Now we know them as Libyans.

Phut is another of Hams sons.
Phut is the Hebrew term for eastern Libya / western Egypt. For nearly 1,700 years that region was called Phut. But by Ezekiel and Jeremiah's time, Phut became part of, and also known as Libya (as in Ezekiel 30:5, 38:5 and Jeremiah 46:9).

Canaan is the last son of Ham and grandson of Noah.
Cannan first settled in what is now called Israel and Jordan.
The sons of Canaan and divisions of the Canaanites includes that of the Amorites, Girgasites, Hivites, Arkites, Sinites, Arvadites, Zemarites and Hamathites. The scripture in Genesis 10 says "then were the families of the Canaanites spread abroad", which of course implies that not all the Canaanites stayed in the northwest of what is now called Yisra'el, between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea.
Specific Detail: One unique branch in the family of the Canaanites was the Sinites.
Common knowledge of today is that "Sino" (in such terms as Sino-American relations, Sino-Soviet relations or similiar Sino- terms) are references to the Chinese. There is a strong relation between the word Shinto and Sino, and the fact that the families of the Sinites became the main Chinese lineage, and that the Sino ethnic branches or lines can be traced (per DNA) along with the intermingling of the Magog ethnic line of descendants, from Noah's other son Japheth.
This is what we understand as the Mongoloid Ethnic line, one of the three main lines that sprang from the Three sons of Noach.
The Sinites also include other oriental peoples such as the Japanese, Koreans, Vietnamese, Thais and the many Indonesian Islanders, that have common roots with their Ancient Sinite Ancestors. A branch of the Sinite (Post Babel) line also spread across to the ancient North American Land mass (see above map), to give rise to the Indians of the Americas, from Alaska to Argentina, which are further branches of the Mongoloid ethnic line.
Giving added significance to this, is that the Sinites are not mentioned at all when Israel comes to occupy the land of Canaan at God's instruction approximately 1600 years later around 1400 BC under Joshua or even later in Israel's history. The fact that they are not mentioned in later biblical history, means that the Sinite line had already moved well away from Canaan, before God's call to Moshe (Moses) and subsequently Yahuwshua (Joshua) to occupy the land.
ONE MORE THING...
In Isaiah 49:12 there is an interesting term used where God's message of salvation will go in the last days. This region is called The Land of Sinim in the direction to the far east and southeast in respect to Israel. It must also be as the scripture verse here says, these people would be in a land far from Israel. This prophecy in Isaiah was written around 700 BCE which is much later than the reference to the Sinites given in Genesis 10.
Furthermore, in 700 BCE the Yisra'elites were well established in Canaan, and there's still no further mention of the Sinites there. The most logical conclusion is that from Genesis 10 around 3000 BCE to about 700 BCE, the Sinites had moved far to the East of Israel, which would fit the lands of China as the ultimate home of the Sinites. Many conservative Bible scholars, both western and Oriental believe that the land of Sinim literaly refers to China.

And Yepheth : Yephath was the youngest of Noach's sons. His name in Hebrew is translated, YaH will Enlarge.
Yepheth's descendants were...
Gomer (these settled North and West of the Black Sea area into what is known as Germany, France, Spain and the British Islands [including Norway and Sweden] ) [This family of Gomer alone enlarged Yepheth immensely].
Magog (these mostly settled north and East of the Black Sea, Russia, etc. [ includes the Asian/Mongoloid Ethnic branch with Cannan])
Madai (these are the Medes of Eastern Turkey, Armenia and Western Iran)
Yavan (these are the Ionians, Albanians, Macedonians and Greeks)
Tubal (these are the Turks just south of the Black Sea)
Meshech (these are all of the Slavic tribes from Czechoslovakia to Ukraine, between and north of the Black and Caspian Seas)
Tiras (these are the Etruscans [ i.e. the Romanians, Bosnians, Albanians, Italians, etc. ]
Note: These sons of Yepheth, became the Seven Primary European nations.
Furthermore, Yepheth is the ancestor of all the lighter skinned peoples of the world.
Yepheth is the head of the Indo-European peoples as well as traces into the Chinese and other Far East peoples. We will see this as in the Sinites, sons of Canaan, son of Ham.
Many ancient cultures among the Indo-Europeans, elevated Yepheth (Son of Noach) and venerated him as a god. One example is the use of his name by the Greeks. The ancient Greeks worshipped Yepheth as Iapetus whom they thought was the son of heaven and earth, and the father of a multitude of nations. The Irish Celts, Britons and Saxons also traced their ancient dynasties to Yepheth.
Let us start...
Beginning with Gomer, son of Yepheth:
Gomer was the ancestor of the Cimerians or Cimbri, from whom came the Celtic people. From Gomer also came Ashkenaz which name was associated with Germany in Hebrew literature from the early centuries C.E.
Jeremiah 51:27 states that Ashkenaz first lived in Ararat and Armenia, originally making them Armenian Turks. Later the descendants of Ashkenaz migrated to what is now Germany, especially around the Rhine River. Even now the Ashkenazi are the Hebrews of Europe, especially Germany and Eastern Europe.
This included the Saxons of Germany and the Angles of Denmark. Originally, these two lines of Ashkenaz lived along the Caspian Sea. Around the time of our Savior Yahuwshu'a, the people from the region of Central Turkey were called Galatians or Gauls. They relocated to a province in the Roman Empire that became known as Gaul which we know as France and Spain.
These two groups later migrated to the British Isles and other regional lands, blending further to become the primary Anglo-Saxon branch.
Magog gave birth to the people called the Scythians or Tartars, who still occupy a significant portion of what is now called Russia.
Madai son of Yepheth are the Medes. They still live and occupy portions of Persia (Iran).
Aslo, from Persia came a blend of the Madai and the Semite Elamites. These became the Aryan peoples of Persia which branch traveled east, and brought with them what became Hinduism. And the Ancient Hindu god Pra-japati (Yepheth), known as the lord of offspring (father of nations), plus the ancient Hindu scriptures (the Vedas).
You'll find that the Aryan peoples of Northern India are generally olive skinned and somewhat Caucasian in features, compared to the Dravidians of Southern India that are of a darker brown skin.
Note also that the languages of Northern India includes the Persian (Iranian) languages, plus Sanskrit, Hindi, Bengali, Punjabi, Gujarati, etc..
While the Dravidian of Southern India speak languages such as Telegu, Tamil, Kanarese and Malayalam, and these most likely being the native languages of India for a longer period from antiquity, and throughout history.
Ya'wan (Javan) refers to the Ionian people of Greece, Syria and the adjacent regions. Ya'wan's name through time changed, to Iamanu, then Iawone, from which we now get Ionian as a region of Greece especially the islands between Greece and Turkey and that portion of the Mediterranean Sea between them.
Tubal is the son of Japheth that originally lived along the southern Black Sea area, then spread north. The descendants of Tubal gave their name to Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia in the Caucasus's of central Asia. Their name is also found in Tobolsk, a major industrial city along the Tobol River, in Siberia, Russia.
Another note is the Thobelities (mentioned by Josephus), these peoples known as Iberes, and believed to have migrated to a place we know as the Iberian peninsula of Spain and Portugal.
This aspect of the bloodline of Tubal suggests an ethnic connection between the peoples of both Siberia and Iberia.
Meshech is a name specifically referring to people of a region of Russia, and through time, lending their name to its modern capitol, Moscow. Meshech is also often used with Tubal, also referring to the area and people of what is now Russia. These people of Meshech were also called the Cappadocians which of what is now central Turkey.
Tiras is the progenitor of the people who still live in what is now Bulgaria, Yugoslavia, Albania and other parts of the Balkans, in southeast Europe.
It is also extremely likely that the present capital of Albania, Tiranna, is derived from the name Tiras the ancestor of the Albanians.
Tiras is also believed to be the father of the Etruscans, who were the ancient peoples of Italy. The descendants of Tiras were also called Thirasians, and Thracians.
The Great Grandsons of Noah, Through Japheth and their Nations
Riphath, son of Gomer, son of Japheth, son of Noach, gave a name to his descendants that becam known as the Paphlagonians. A people that settled in a Roman province in northern Turkey along the shore of the Black Sea. This identity is confirmed by Josephus the Hebrew historian..
Togarmah's descendants first inhabited a region of Armenia, then spread into Turkey. This has an interesting mix as the people of Armenia claim to be descendants of both Togarmah and Ashkenaz. Which also shows how well the Askenazi were spread out among the lands of eastern Europe, and that they remain to be one of the largest of the line of Yepheth even to this day.
Kittim and his descendants moved and dwelt on what is the island of Cyprus. In the Scriptures (and other literature) the people and land of Cyprus is Kittim.
Dodan and his descendants, the Dodanim settled in the region of Asia Minor. The Ancient Greeks called them the Dardani. This name is perpetuated in the Strait of the Dardanelles between the Black and Aegean seas of Europe, Asia and Turkey.
Re-cap: The Three original or main ethnic lines after Noach, (Shem and his wife, Ham and his wife, and Yepheth and his wife) with their specific physical traits, are what eventually expanded to became the various branches within the Mongolian, African and Caucasian ethnicities we see today.
But let's get back to this study.
Prior to being scattered, these family lines from Shem, Ham and Yepheth grew in population, they mingled amongst themselves in what the Scriptures described as having "One Language and One Speech", and gathered in the plain, in the Land of Shinar. Shinar means "Two Rivers" and the Plain was the area of Babel (Babylon) between the Two Rivers north of Ur and south of Nineveh.
This shows that the many people groups at first dwelt as one Big Super Family, failing to "Fill the Earth" as YaHuWaH instructed them to do in Beresith (Genesis) 9:1 and 7.
So let us look at the time from the landing of the Ark (Beresith 8:13) to the moment that Yah had to forcibly scattered them (Beresith 11:9).
By 2200 BCE, the many branches of the Human Family became quite diverse. And as a result the multitude of these ethnic lines, we see that their scattering by YaHuWaH was done during the lifetime of Peleg. This is also why we see a specific ethnic group found only in one specific geographical location (i.e. the Aborigines of Australia, etc.)

When we look again at the previous map (below), we can more easily see and understand how the individual ethnic branches were separated and distributed, to certain locations, by the sovereign will and hand of haShaddai 'El YaHuWaH. The disbursement of the Ethnic Branches at the Tower of Babel is mentioned at Beresith (Genesis) 11:1-9.
And then knowing that at the time of Peleg the earth was divided. And that this time of Peleg was from approx. 100 years after the flood to approx. 350 years after the flood, and Peleg lived for 239 years.
To Summarize: The Languages and Peoples(nations) were separated and distributed across the face of the earth. {Beresith (Genesis) 11:1-9. This happened after the Tower incident, about 120 years after Peleg was born.
So, according to Scripture, the various ethnic branches from Shem, Ham and Yepheth (remembering the genetic inputs of their wives) were at first disbursed across the face of the earth. {Beresith 10:8-10 ; 11:1-9)
And then the Earth was divided. {Beresith 10:25)
Re-cap again:
We see that first, YaHuWaH "scattered the Nations"(peoples and their languages), to various and even specific locations across the earth.
Then shortly thereafter, and once the ethnic lines were geographically in place...
YaHuWaH "divided the Earth" into its separate continental land mass(s).
SO, divide the peoples, then, divide the earth.
We can see by the above image that it would have been quite easy for YaHuWaH to disburse the Various Ethnicities across the Earth, just prior to the separation of the Continents.
Besides;
There is a multitude of Scientific, Cultural and Historical evidence regarding;
The Flood (stories are found in all nations, of the account of Noach and the Flood),
The melting and retreat of the Glacier Ice Sheets ( yes, the ice age was a result of the 40 days and nights of "Extreme" Rain, and the extended overcast and shadowing around the globe, causing steep temperature drops at the latitudes nearer the North and South Poles ).
Also, that the initial dividing of the continents, came about by the filling in of lower elevation land areas (between the Continents) with melt water from glacial ice.
Besides all that, there are the multitude of descriptions (historically) of Earthquakes and Tectonic Plate movements from the time of Peleg.
And for the past 4000 yrs. after Peleg, we still to this day, experience sever movements of the earth in many diverse places.
Many of these causing extreme changes to the topography and geology of the earths crust.
You can read of many of these specific "Quakes" in the Scriptures. Check any good Concordance for passages.
And remember folks...
There are some very severe Earthquakes yet to come.
